Role details:
We’re seeking skilled Maintenance Fitters to join our Smithfield Plastics Plant. These are full-time permanent roles on Day or Afternoon shift from 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm with overtime available both weekdays and weekends. 

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

What you’ll do:

• Install and maintain mechanical components and systems.
• Diagnosing faults on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine mechanical tests and attend breakdowns.
• Diagnose and fix problems on a variety of equipment throughout the plant, including motors, gearboxes, baggers, conveyors, washers, extruders and optical sorters.
• Proactive approach in reporting and identifying hazards.

What you’ll bring:

• Mechanical trade qualification with experience in manufacturing environment beneficial
• Strong experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Skills in diagnostics, fault finding and control systems
• Working alongside production and engineering team to resolve issues
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety
